John Cofield's Oxford and Ole Miss: Two Oxford Icons, 'The Girls'

While compiling the book there were certain photos I longed for. Without a doubt this great shot by Jack Case Wilson was one of them.

I was thrilled upon receiving a high resolution digital image of these two Oxford icons. Even greater than that, though, was the story Jack wrote to accompany the photograph. Page 198 and 199 of “Oxford, Mississippi, the Cofield Collection” take on a feeling of their own due to Jack’s efforts in helping the son of his old friends Jack and Martha Glenn Cofield.
Thank you, always.
“This picture of ‘The Girls’ is probably my favorite of all that I took over the years. They were Ladies, Grande Dames, Selfless, Loving Souls and so much more. I don’t think God makes Bebes and Dollys anymore. At least I haven’t met them.” -Jack Case Wilson
