Ole Miss softball’s 2018 season came to an end on Sunday night in the Tempe Regional against the host school Arizona State Sun Devils by the score of 9-0.

Ole Miss (32-25) fell behind early in the first inning after a few costly mistakes that put ASU up 5-0 and they never looked back. The Rebels’ starter Katlin Lee worked only a third of an inning as the Sun Devils plated those runs on six hits.
Coach Mike Smith brought in Ava Tillman out of the pin for 2.2 innings of work.
In the second inning, Ole Miss was able to hold ASU from scoring by turning a double play to end the frame. The Sun Devils took advantage of a pair of Rebel errors in the field to plate four runs, extending their lead to 9-0 after three.
Brittany Finney came into pitch in the fourth and threw a prefect inning with retiring the side by strike out.
This was the third straight trip to the regional final in a row and the first three trips to the NCAA Tournament in the program’s history.
