The Oxford Police Department arrested a man Friday for allegedly breaking into a vehicle at the Three-Way Grocery on North Lamar Boulevard.
According to reports, Sammie Gross, 39, of Water Valley was identified by investigators after viewing security footage after a report of a vehicle burglary at the gas station.
Later in the day, an officer spotted Gross on Pegues Road in Oxford and after a brief foot chase, Gross was apprehended and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was charged with vehicle burglary and booked on a $10,000 bond by a Justice Court judge.
