The Ole Miss diamond Rebels top pitching signee Gunnar Hoglund made the bold move Friday to play college baseball instead of jumping the ladder to the top.

Hoglund was a first round pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2018 MLB draft. According to Perfect Game, he was ranked 46 overall nationally in the class of 2018.
Hoglund announced on Twitter that he will be staying at Ole Miss where he is already enrolled in summer school.

The Hudson, Florida native was named to the 2018 Rawlings-Perfect Game Second Team All-American and the All-Region First Team in the state of Florida.
