Though his breed is Ole Miss’ fiercest rival, Leuy the bulldog is a Rebel at heart.
His owners, Oxford residents Ashley and Rob Freeman, said they helped Leuy discover his love for the Rebels in an unconventional way.
“We took him to the lake and realized he loved swimming,” Ashely Freeman said. “So we put a child’s life jacket on him and loved it even more.”
As avid Ole Miss fans, the Freemans are always looking out for ways to support their team. Freeman said she remembered a video of an Olde English bulldog dressed in a shark costume for Halloween and an idea sparked within the family.
“We decided he needed his very own life jacket with a fin,” she said. “Moral of this story is Leuy is down to swim with his fins UP!”
Leuy is ready to cheer on the Rebels as they kick off the season in Houston Sept. 1 against Texas Tech.
