The Oxford Park Commission will hold a 9/11 Day of Remembrance Program starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Old Armory Pavilion off Bramlett Boulevard.

The program will recognize all local law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, emergency management personnel and dispatchers.

The Rev. Fish Robinson will do the invocation before guest speaker Bubba Holifield will address the crowd. Holifield, a Mississippi Highway SWAT officer, was injured in 2016 when he was shot during a domestic disturbance Tishomingo County. His friend and Narcotics agent James Lee Tartt, 44, was shot and killed.

There will be a moment of silence and a brief memorial made in honor of the late Lafayette County Sheriff F.D. “Buddy” East, who died Saturday morning.
