Former Lafayette High School math teacher Molly Wray has been indicted by a grand jury on a charge of enticing a minor to meet for sexual purposes.
According to the indictment handed down by the Lafayette County grand jury on Sept. 5, Wray allegedly enticed a 17-year-old male student at LHS to meet with the purpose of “engaging in sexually-explicit conduct” on or around the time of November 2017.
If convicted, Wray is facing five to 40 years in prison and a $100,000 to $1M fine.
Wray was formally charged by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department in June receiving a report from Lafayette County School District Superintendent Adam Pugh that Wray had allegedly engaged in improper conduct with a male student.
Wray is no longer working for the Lafayette County School District.
Wray was set to be arraigned Oct. 8; however, her attorney Tony Farese filed for a motion to continue to a later court term, which was approved by a Circuit Court judge.
