Oxford Police Report Felony Arrests For Burglary, DUI 3rd

The Oxford Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Oct. 20 on a vehicle with no headlights.

The driver, Cornelius McWilliams, 34, of Tupelo, was allegedly driving under the influence. Officers discovered McWilliams had two previous DUIs.

He was arrested for DUI-third offense and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $10,000 bond.

 

 

Former renter charged with burglary

A woman was arrested by OPD on Monday for allegedly breaking into a home she once rented.

According to OPD, a woman reported that someone had broken into her residence and stole several items. She identified the suspect as Ebonie Gunn, 32, of Oxford who was a former renter of the property.

Charges were signed against Gunn and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

She was arrested and taken to the Detention Center where she was booked on a $2,500 bond.
