The Oxford Chargers return to action this Friday night as they travel north on I-55 to take on the Hernando Tigers. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Oxford (7-2, 4-1) rolls into Hernando after a 42-6 win over Columbus.
This season, the Chargers clinched a spot in the 6A playoffs after stopping short of the tournament in 2017. Two games remain on the schedule and head coach Chris Cutcliffe said team members still looks to better themselves.
“(Oxford) still has bigger goals left to achieve and we are ready to continue working to reach those goals,” he said.
Hernando (3-6, 1-4) comes into the game after a 37-16 loss to Horn Lake. The Tigers quarterback Dylan Faulk has thrown for 181.3 yards per game this season.
“Their quarterback has been playing at a very high level and they have some WRs who can make plays,” Cutcliffe said. “Hernando’s defense does a great job of being in the right places and making plays they are supposed to make.”
