The Ole Miss Rebels football team is set to return to action this weekend as they host the South Carolina Gamecocks Nov. 3 for an 11 a.m. game after a restful bye week. Head Coach Matt Luke discussed with the media how important the week was for his team.

“We were able to get back healthy and hone on some little things we needed to get better at before the stretch run of four games in 19 days,” he said.

Defensive back C.J. Miller and defensive tackle Austrian Robinson will return to the playing field after a healthy week at practice. Luke said tight end Dawson Knox and defensive back Ken Webster also got some much needed rest for a potential spot on the field against the Gamecocks.

Luke said he anticipates the remainder of the Rebel football schedule.

“We are fired up about the stretch run, and I know our crowd will show up against a big-time SEC opponent (like South Carolina),” he said.

South Carolina is coming into Oxford after a victory at home against Tennessee.

“The Gamecocks are fast and physical on both sides of the ball,” Luke said. “I look forward to the challenge.”

Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. on the SEC Network.
