As the weather deteriorates in Oxford and Lafayette County, schools and other organizations are starting to cancel events for later today.

The Oxford School District will be dismissing students about a half hour early today, with elementary students getting out at 1:30 p.m. and middle and high school students being released at 2:30 p.m. All afterschool activities have been canceled.

The Lafayette County School District has not released any information in regards to early dismissal; however, at noon, the district did announce that all afterschool activities – including after-school childcare and athletics – are canceled for today.
