LSU Takes Down Ole Miss 55-41

The Ole Miss Rebels women’s basketball team fell to the LSU Lady Tigers 55-41 inside the Pavilion on Thursday night.

Ole Miss (6-11, 0-3)fell behind to LSU and couldn’t find a way to take the lead in the game.

Senior Crystal Allen led the Rebels in scoring with 12 points against the Tigers. Shandricka Sessom recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards on the night.

At the half, LSU took a 32-15 advantage into the locker room.

The Rebels came out strong in the third quarter and outscored LSU 14-5, but in the final 10 minutes of action, the Tigers closed the door on Ole Miss’ chances to come back by outscoring them 18-12.

Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin’s squad was held to 30. Percent shooting from the field in the game.

LSU had three players reach double figures in scoring with Ayana Mitchell leading the way with 16 points, Shanice Norton tallied 11 of her own and Khayla Pointer add 10 points.

Ole Miss steps back into action on Sunday as they travel up to Lexington, Kentucky to take on the Kentucky Wildcats. Tip-off is slated for Noon and can be seen on the SEC Network.
