The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a reported armed robbery at the Dollar General in Abbeville.
According to reports, at about 9 p.m., Wednesday, deputies responded to the store on Highway 7 North and spoke with employees who told deputies that three men came into the store and that two of them had guns.
The employees said the males demanded the workers open the cash register and the employees complied.
An undetermined amount of money was taken from the register.
The deputies secured video surveillance footage from the store.
According to the employees, one of the suspects did fire one round into the air before leaving. No one was injured.
