Two Women Charged With Trying to Cash Stolen/Forged Checks in Unrelated Incidents

The Oxford Police Department arrested two people in unrelated incidents of trying to cash fake or stolen checks.

On May 15, OPD took a report from a local bank about someone cashing forged checks. During the course of the investigation, Ashley Neal, 21, of Etta was named as the suspect and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On June 14, Neal was arrested on a warrant for uttering forgery. She was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where she was booked on a $2,000 bond.

On April 13, OPD investigators took a report from an alleged victim claiming that Stacy Raymond passed a fake check to be cashed at a local business for $2,450.

A warrant was issued for her arrest for felony false pretense. On June 12, she was arrested in Batesville and transported back to Oxford where she was booked into the detention center on a $2,500 bond.
