The Oxford Police Department is investigating the death of a man at an Oxford gas station Saturday morning.

According to OPD, officers responded to Lindsey’s Chevron at about 9:40 a.m. this morning and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cashier April Knighton said there were four people in the vehicle that pulled into the parking lot.

“An Oxford police officer arrived first and started doing CPR and then the fire department and ambulance arrived and they worked on him for about an hour trying to revive him,” Knighton said.

Lafayette County Coroner Rocky Kennedy released the name of the deceased this evening as Donovan Waryold, 25, of Virginia. Cause of death is under investigation by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Jackson; however, it does not appear to be a homicide or by violence.
