Due to the Fourth of July holiday, local, state and federal government offices will be closed Thursday and many local and state offices are also closed on Friday.
Garbage regularly picked up on Thursdays in Oxford and Lafayette County will be collected on Wednesday, according to Oxford Environmental Services. A regular schedule will run on Friday for garbage and recycling. Rubbish will be collected Tuesday and Wednesday.
All city, county, state and school offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Federal offices, including the U.S. Post Office, will be closed Thursday.
Buses with the Oxford-University Transit System will not run on Thursday. On Friday, the Red, Blue, Gray and Purple routes will run the same as Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Parking on the Square will be free Thursday.
The Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library will be closed Thursday.
