An Oxford woman was charged recently for driving under the influence for the third time.

According to OPD, at about 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 9, Jessica Shorter, 38, of Oxford was pulled over by a police officer on Highway 6 for careless driving.
During the stop, the officer conducted a DUI investigation when he learned that Shorter had at least two prior DUI convictions within the last five years.
She was arrested and charged with DUI-third, careless driving, driving on a suspended license and expired tag. She was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where she was booked on a $5,000 bond.
