Easter Weekend Events in Oxford: April 17-20

It’s Easter weekend, which means some of us (not us, I mean you) get a day off, seersucker runs rampant, and us ladies can finally break out the linen and white.
Oxford is a beautiful place to spend Easter too and there’s plenty to do for the entire family!
EasterHere’s what to expect this weekend:
Ole Miss Baseball vs. LSU at Oxford-University Stadium

  • Thursday, April 17 – 6:30 p.m.
  • Friday, April 18 – 6:30 p.m. (with fireworks to follow)
  • Saturday, April 20 – 1:00 p.m.

Oxford-Lafayette County Public Library Easter Egg Hunt and Puppet Show

  • Friday, April 18 at 10 a.m.
  • For children 5 years and younger.

Rebel Rickshaw Tours Kick Off on Friday, April 18

  • Tours will be at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., or by request at the Visit Oxford office (415 South Lamar Blvd.)
  • The one-hour tour will showcase Oxford’s many historical sites.
  • Tours cost $15 per person, $7 for children 12 and under, and three to five people fit in one rickshaw.

Emeritus at Oxford Easter Egg Hunt

  • Friday, April 18 at 3:30 p.m.
  • Emeritus at Oxford is located on Azalea Drive
  • The Easter Bunny will be in attendance for pictures! There will also be refreshments, prices, and games for all ages.
  • Don’t forget to bring your own basket!

Second Annual Oxford Craft Beer and Food Show on Saturday, April 19 from 12 to 6 p.m.

  • Located at the Colonel’s Quarters, this year’s event will feature more than 140 craft beers, food pairings, cooking demonstrations, and the SEC Pizza Bake-Off.
  • When purchased in advance ticket prices are as follows: general admission is $45 and $15 for designated drivers, VIP tickets are $85 and $25 for VIP designated drivers, and the Early Bird Event is $25.
  • Tickets at the gate are $10 more.

Oxford Park Commission’s Eggciting Easter Event on Saturday, April 19 at FNC Park Softball fields

  • The Eggciting Easter Event is from 10 a.m.  to 12:30 p.m.
  • The Egg Hunt will begin at 10 a.m. for ages 10 and under. Children will be grouped according to age.
  • More than 7,000 eggs will be hidden and special eggs can be redeemed for gift certificates and prizes.
  • There will be several hands-on activities, such as a petting zoo and Touch-a-Truck, a program that allows children to touch, climb, and explore trucks and heavy machinery.
  • The Easter Bunny will be on site asking for participants to bring at least one can good to be donated to The Oxford-Lafayette Pantry.

The End of All Music hosts Record Store Day 2014

  • Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • The End of All Music will release a limited-edition cassette compilation featuring Oxford-based musicians. All proceeds from the 250 copies available only at this event will go directly to MusiCares – the musician assistance charity of the Recording Academy of America.
  • Proud Larry’s will host an after-party starting at 8 p.m. There will be a $10 cover at the door.
  • A limited edition t-shirt designed by J. Burwell will be on sale to commemorate record store culture.
  • Refreshments are provided by High Point Coffee, Yalobusha Brewing Company, Mary McGuire Cakes and Confit Web Design.
  • Cole Furlow of Dead Gaze will provide entertainment starting at 2 p.m.

The Orchard’s Easter in the Grove

  • Sunday, April 20 at 10 a.m.
  • This special service is jointly hosted by The Orchard Oxford and the Ole Miss Wesley Foundation.
  • Bring a lawn chair, a blanket and/or a picnic lunch and celebrate in the Grove this Easter
  • Includes special children’s activities too
