As the weather gets colder, football is winding down. The sound of shoes screeching across a wooden floor can only mean one thing ––that basketball season is in full swing.
The Ole Miss Rebels basketball team have jumped out of the gate this season, winning their first two games of a six game home stretch. Junior guard Marshall Henderson has been electric in his first two games, averaging 24.5 points per-game.
On Friday night, the Rebels welcome into Oxford the University of Arkansas Little-Rock Trojans. The Trojans come into the game with a (1-0) record on the year.
The Trojans were led in scoring in their 84-68 win last Friday over University of Tennessee-Martin by freshmen John Gillon and James White. The duo combined for 40 points off the bench in the 16-point victory.
The last time these two squads met was on December 11, 2010, in Little Rock, where the Rebels won 84-70. In that game, the Rebels jumped out to an early 21-4 lead that they never relinquished.
The Rebels and the Trojans tip off at 7 p.m. in Tad Smith Coliseum.
