First Of Its Kind Live Coverage of Ole Miss Volleyball

sportsproductionAre you ready for some volleyball?  For the first time, journalism students at the Meek School of Journalism & New Media have partnered with Ole Miss Athletics to produce live coverage of the women’s volleyball match against Arkansas.

The production team is led by veteran network sports producer and executive producer Terry Ewert.  He is a 13-time national Emmy Award winner, and he has covered three Olympic games. Ewert is teaching the school’s first sports production class, along with Dr. Bradley Schultz, a long-time broadcast journalism professor at the school.

Senior broadcast journalism major Morgan White is a student in the class.

“Now, I feel like I have a better foundation if I do feel like I want to go into production or even on air. Mr. Ewert has been amazing and I’ve learned a lot. I learned more than I expected in these 5 weeks and I’m going to use it in the future, ” said White.

The live webcast of the game will be streamed on RebelVision at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.  The team is 10-3 for the season.
