Mission Mississippi is sponsoring a celebration service on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. on the north side of the courthouse. It’s part of the 82-day cross carrying journey through all 82 Mississippi counties. Organizers say the event is meant to bring together people of all races and denominations to celebrate racial reconciliation and healing. The event also commemorates the Mission Mississippi organization’s 20th anniversary.

The cross’ journey culminates with a massive statewide celebration and worship rally on Oct. 27. For more information contact missionmississippi.org
