The Oxford School District will host a Parent Training on Common Core State Standards with two scheduled opportunities for parents and families who have a child or children enrolled in the Oxford School District. The events will take place Oct. 22 at Lafayette County & Oxford Public Library, 401 Bramlett Avenue, from noon to 1 p.m, and at Oxford High School Lecture Center 222 Bramlett Ave., from 6 to 7 p.m.

The presentation, “High Expectations, Higher Achievement: A Road to Rigorous College and Career Ready Standards,” will be presented by Oxford School District educators.

The Common Core State Standards will serve as important benchmarks to ensure all students are well prepared for success in post-secondary education and in the workforce.

Parents and families are encouraged to attend as district teachers explain more about the standards and how they will be implemented in the classroom.
