Chargers Dominate First-Round of the State Playoffs

The Oxford Chargers defeated the Vicksburg Gators on Friday night with a score of 50-7.  The Gators scored first in the opening possession. The Chargers answered back with a touchdown of their own in their first possession. From then on, the Chargers dominated the game.  Coach Johnny Hill’s Chargers lit up the scoreboard with 33 points in the second quarter.

With the win, the Chargers improve to a record of 12-0 on the year and will advance to the second-round of class 5A playoffs. Oxford will host Pearl at Bobby Holcomb Field next Friday night.
