The Daily Crime Report for Thursday, April 10
The Oxford Police Department investigated four wrecks no injuries, issued 38 citations and made five arrests, on the following charges: public drunk, possession of drug paraphernalia; public drunk; shoplifting; out of jurisdiction warrant served; and no seatbelt and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Oxford Police also responded to one alarm, one fire assist, five disturbances, four reckless driving, four motorist assists, one animal compliant, two parking complaints, three ambulance assists and one welfare concern.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents Wednesday, April 9:
Burglary – taking items from auto, ambulance needed at Stewart Hall, ambulance needed at University Place, hit-and-run accident at the Power Plant, traffic assist at Coliseum Drive, ambulance needed at Lewis Hall, two motor vehicle accidents, vandalism to vehicle at Campus Walk Apartments, failure to yield right-of-way on Rebel Drive, ambulance needed at Shoemaker Drive, ambulance needed at Stewart Hall, driving without headlines, disturbance – fight at Residential College, vehicle stop, alcohol – intoxicated driver at Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house and sexual offense – sexual battery at Brown Hall.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call Wednesday, April 9:
– Steam activated a smoke detector, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, at 5:39 a.m.
