Man Arrested on Unauthorized Purchases Charge Oxford Police arrested Charles Scott, 41, of Oxford, after police said he falsely made charges to an account he wasn’t authorized to use. The business owner signed charges against Scott, who was arrested Monday. His bond was set at $500.
The Oxford Police Department investigated four wrecks, issued 23 citations and made 13 arrests, on the following charges: two first-offense DUI; possession of marijuana; alcohol consumption of a city street; careless driving and first-offense DUI; wrong way on a one way and first-offense DUI; possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to yield at a stop sign; speeding, no insurance and first-offense DUI; seatbelt violation, driving while license suspended and no insurance; domestic violence-simple assault; and two shopliftings.
Oxford Police also responded to reports of three welfare concerns, suspicious activity, four alarms, a disturbance, fraud, careless driver, ambulance assist, petit larceny and a 911 wrong number.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents Tuesday, May 13: Running a stop sign on University Avenue, suspicious person at the Quadrangle, running a stop sign on Coliseum Drive, petit larceny on Paul B. Johnson Commons, larceny-bicycles at Stockard Hall and careless driving on University Avenue.
