Rebels Return Resounds With Swayze Faithful

The Rebels came home yesterday to cheers and smiles … and maybe a few tears.
After going all the way to the semifinals of the College World Series, the Rebels were beaten Saturday in an elimination game , 4-1 to the Virginia Cavaliers.
Yesterday in front of a healthy crowd at Swayze Field, the Rebel players and coaches thanked their adoring fans, while the Ole Miss faithful showed their appreciation for a magical season.
Pre-season prognosticators picked the Rebels to land near the bottom of the SEW West pack and the talented ballclub confounded the so-called experts. They took the SEC Western Division, won their own regional and then beat the powerful Louisiana Lafayette ballclub in the Ragin’ Cajuns own ballpark to get to the CWS.
