According to Alderman Jay Hughes, a big tree on the west side of the Courthouse lawn is unfortunately dead and needs to be removed.
“All efforts have been made to save it by arborists, Hughes said. “But it presents a very real hazard.”
However, there are plans being considered to replace it. The removal of the tree will cause the City to close the west side inner circle of the Square tomorrow (Sunday, July 20).
