Oxford Crime Report: Monday, Dec. 15
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four suspicious activities, two disturbances, two alarms, two fire department assists, a motorist assist, a welfare concern, improper parking, a recovered property, fraud and some harassing phone calls.
Oxford police investigated nine wrecks, issued 27 traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges: no driver’s license with no car insurance, speeding with suspended driver’s license and no car insurance with a warrant served.
University police responded to the following incidents: an accidental hit and run at The Inn at Ole Miss, a grand larceny of more than $1,000 at Faser Hall, and larceny in the Grove.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents: a resident pulled a fire alarm at State Veterans Home, a report of garbage truck on fire but no fire radiator hose came off on Highway 7, a wreck with extrication at Highway 6 East and University Avenue, and a tree limb touching a power line caused an arc at 204 Beacon Point.
