Last Friday, the Mississippi Institute of Higher Learning board of trustees voted to not renew Chancellor Dan Jones’ contract. Even if the news was announced shortly before the weekend, Dr. Dan Jones’ supporters were not deterred from expressing their disapproval of the decision and their support of the chancellor on Twitter.
There are also Facebook groups, Reinstate Chancellor Jones and I Stand With Chancellor Jones, to connect those who want to fight for Jones to stay. Between these two, students arranged a calm protest in the Lyceum Circle at noon Wednesday.
