Anthony Hilliard – Commercial Burglary
On Thursday, April 23, 2015, Oxford police officers arrested Anthony Hilliard, 33 years old of Oxford, for Burglary of a Commercial Building. This was a result of a two years’ investigation into the burglary of Shipley’s. Through the investigation the police were able to identify suspects and witnesses that were able to give information on Hilliard and the burglary. A warrant was issued in February of 2015 after investigators were able to gather enough information on the burglary and Hilliard. Hilliard was taken for an initial appearance at Justice Court where his bond was set at $2,500.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: six alarms, five suspicious activities, three improper parking, two animal complaints, a recovered property, a noise violation, an ambulance assist, a malicious mischief, a careless driving, a harassment, a motorist assist, and an auto-burglary at Lafayette Place.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 41 traffic citations and made nine arrests on the following charges: (4) public intoxication; (4) minor in possession of alcohol & possession of a fake ID; and a seatbelt violation with no driver’s license.
University police responded to the following incidents: three traffic details, two vehicle stops, a possession of alcohol in Stewart Hall, a public drunk who resisted arrest at Women’s Athletics Complex, and a public drunk with a fake ID trespassing at Stockard Hall.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a fire alarm at Crosby Hall; a wreck with entrapment on Highway 30; and a fire alarm at Kappa Alpha house.
