BREAKING: Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy Injured in Overnight Standoff, Will Undergo Surgery Today

 

unnamed-1A Marshall County Sherriff’s Deputy was shot in the arm early Monday morning near the community of Lamar. He was taken to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, and he will soon undergo surgery. The deputy is in stable condition.

He and other Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies were responding to a domestic violence call on Winding Creek Road southeast of Slayden when the suspect opened fire with a deer rifle then barricaded himself inside his home for several hours. The standoff ended shortly before 6 a.m.

The suspect, who has not been identified, was taken into custody. The suspect will be booked in the Desoto County Jail.
