Oxford Crime Report: Monday, June 29

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five alarms, four disturbances, four suspicious vehicles, three suspicious persons, two improper parking, a suspicious activity, a counterfeit currency, a civil matter, a simple assault, a malicious mischief, an ambulance assist, and an embezzlement.

Oxford police investigated three wrecks, issued 15 tickets and made five arrests on the following charges: trespassing with shoplifting; speeding with no car insurance nor a driver’s license; possession of drug paraphernalia; public drunk; and stalking.

University police responded to the following incidents: six vehicle stops, a service call for an ambulance at Lenoir Hall, and a vehicle accident on Magnolia Drive.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: an alarm panel malfunction at 7:51 a.m. at Minor Hall, a report of possible car fire at 12:35 p.m. but it was unfounded on Jackson Avenue near Rebel Rag area, a cancelled call at 2:08 p.m. at 321 Country Club Road, and a small grass fire in a backyard at 5:37 p.m. on White Oak Lane.
