Breaking News Graphic_WEBMarshall County law enforcers have been scouring the wooded areas off Highway 78 in Holly Springs since late Thursday evening looking for Blues musician and Oxford Blues Festival headliner DuWayne Burnside, who ran from the police to allegedly escape a child support warrant.

WREG reports that Burnside ran from a Marshall County Narcotics Officer during a traffic stop on Highway 78 in Holly Springs. When the officer initiated the traffic stop, Burnside fled west toward Memphis, then exited his vehicle and ran on foot.

Burnside is not considered to be dangerous, and police expect to have him in custody today.

Before the incident, Burnside was slated to be one of the headline acts at the sixth annual Oxford Blues Festival to take place on July 18. His name has since been removed from the line-up list.
