The Ole Miss athletics department is asking the greater Oxford and University of Mississippi community to help support Batesville Elementary School as they look to recover supplies for the upcoming school year after suffering a devastating fire on July 10.

The Ole Miss athletics department is asking for the support of the greater Oxford and Lafayette communities to help the Batesville community by donating supplies for the elementary school. You will be able to drop off donations at the Wal-Mart on Jackson Ave on Saturday, July 25 from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

“We are challenging our fellow community members to help our friends in Batesville during this unimaginable time of need,” said Ole Miss athletics director, Ross Bjork. “ It doesn’t matter where you grew up, where went to school, where you live now, or where you go to school now, the Batesville school district and all those affected by the fire, need our help.  We are grateful that we can utilize the platform of Ole Miss athletics to help collect supplies and other items to help rebuild the school and help Batesville provide the best possible educational environment as we start the 2015-16 school year.  If ever there were a direct call to action to help out, this is it.  Please join us as we help Batesville get prepared for the upcoming school year.”
