Football fans can win season tickets to Ole Miss home games and a tailgating package by entering Mississippi Federal Credit Union’s Touchdowns & Tailgates raffle through August 31. All proceeds benefit the Lafayette County Literacy Council.

The winner of the raffle, who will be announced September 1, will get two season tickets to Ole Miss home football games, a Yeti cooler, a Nike football signed by Coach Hugh Freeze, two Ole Miss lawn chairs, two Ole Miss Tervis Tumblers, two Ole Miss Grove Cups, two Ole Miss Huggies, two MSFCU Huggies, a party supply package, and pom poms.

“Mississippi Federal Credit Union is proud to support the Lafayette County Literacy by sponsoring the Touchdowns & Tailgates raffle,” says Jeff Kilgore, director of business development for Mississippi Federal Credit Union. “The Council is such an important organization within the LOU community and we are thrilled to collaborate with them to promote literacy. When we as a community advocate literacy, we are advocating education, opportunity, and a better quality of life.”

Tickets cost just $5 and there is no limit to the number of tickets that a person can buy. Tickets can be purchased at Mississippi Federal Credit Union at 1101 Jackson Avenue (in front of the Jackson Avenue Center), in the Ole Miss Student Union, or the Jackson branch on the University Medical Center Campus.

The Lafayette County Literacy Council’s mission is to improve the quality of life in Oxford and Lafayette County through literacy and reading. Its core programs are the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, ABLE and the Children’s Book Festival. In 2014, the Council gave more than 10,500 books to local children, taught nearly 600 parents why and how to read to their children from birth, and launched ABLE, a much-needed literacy and GED preparation program for adults.
