Northwest Recognizes Donor for Milestone in Giving

Bobby Dunlap

Dr. Gary Lee Spears, president of Northwest Mississippi Community College, and Sybil Canon, associate vice president for development and special projects recently recognized Bobby Dunlap, CEO of Dunlap & Kyle, in celebrating a milestone of generous giving reached by Dunlap to the Northwest Foundation.

Canon reported that with the recent gift of $40,000 donated to the Gateway Tire Scholarship Endowment, the cumulative giving by Dunlap has reached $400,000. She further stated, “Most of Mr. Dunlap’s contributions are for the purpose of providing scholarships. However, he has also helped with equipment for the Automotive Technology program and with special projects for our athletic and fine arts programs, ” Canon said.

Spears expressed the college’s appreciation by saying, “Bobby Dunlap is noted for his philanthropy to many worthy causes. In addition, he has a true compassion for young people and wants to help them attend college. We are honored to be among the colleges and universities that he supports.” Dunlap & Kyle is the parent company of Gateway Tire stores.
