The Oxford School District Foundation (OSDF) invites local families and Charger fans to come out for the Charger Kickoff Celebration on Friday, August 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the practice field behind Oxford Middle School.

The celebration of athletics and academics will take place right before the home opener against Southaven.

The tailgate celebration event is free and will feature bouncy houses, face painting, gridiron challenges and game day food for purchase.

OSDF will also be recruiting new members for the organization, which raises money to fund innovative teaching ideas submitted by teachers in the Oxford School District. This past year, the foundation paid for fourteen projects, including an indoor/outdoor science classroom, LEGO robot kits and tools to help promote literacy.

Everyone in the community is welcome to attend the event. For more information on the Oxford School District Foundation, visit www.oxfordsd.org/OSDF.
