The Ole Miss Athletic department announced Tuesday after football  practice that senior defensive tackle Issac Gross will undergo neck surgery that will cause him to miss the rest of the season.

The surgery is a result of a neck injury Gross previously suffered.

After playing in the victory over UT Mart,in Gross plans to take a medical redshirt and return to the Rebels for a fifth year, according to a statement released by the Ole Miss Athletic department.

“Issac Gross will undergo season-ending surgery on his neck. He plans to redshirt this season and return for a fifth year. With a successful procedure, the medical staff is optimistic for a full recovery.”

Gross has been a key part to the land-shark defense since stepping on campus in 2012.
