The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close the Highway 328 in Lafayette County this Wednesday, September 23.

Highway 328 is located one-half mile east of Country Road 337 / Old River Road in Lafayette County. MDOT crew closes this road so it can replace an existing bridge with a box culvert. Motorists are advised to find alternate routes around the construction area.

Transportation commissioner Mike Tagert said, “MDOT is constantly evaluating Mississippi’s roads and bridges. This bridge replacement project will increase the safety of the traveling public in Lafayette County.”

The highway will remain closed until construction is complete.
