Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, October 2 – 4

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 10 noise violations, nine alarms, five welfare concerns, five suspicious activities, four ambulance assists, four disturbances, two civil matters, two harassments, two petit larceny, two animal complaints, two lost properties, two motorist assists, a careless driving, an improper parking, a grand larceny, a 911 hang up call, and a shoplifting.

Oxford police investigated 13 wrecks, issued 46 traffic citations and made 23 arrests on the following charges:

Shoplifting
Failure to comply
Reckless driving and DUI
Careless driving and DUI
Domestic violence per simple assault
Careless driving, expired tag and DUI
Public intoxication and failure to comply
Disturbing the peace and public intoxication
False identifying information and a warrant served
Possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant served
Failure to comply, disturbing the peace and simple assault

University police responded to the following incidents:

Vandalism to vehicle at Housing Warehouse
Saturday, October 3

Trespassing at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
Sunday, October 4

Driving the wrong way on an one-way street with a fake ID
Lack of qualifying driver’s license on Fraternity Row
Intoxicated person at Deaton Hall
Disturbance per loud music at Sigma Pi house

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents:
Friday, October 2
Smoke detector activation at 11:14 a.m. due to setting a tote on a hot steve eye at 105 Ed Perry Boulevard
Water flow alarm malfunctions at 1:52 at Campus Creek Building 2
Smoke detector activation at 7:23 p.m. due to cooking at Barksdale Reading Institute
Saturday, October 3
Water flow alarm malfunctions at 10:28 a.m. and 8:59 p.m. at Campus Creek Building 2
Stand by at 11:00 a.m. for changing out the chlorine tank at Winchester
Fire alarm pull station malfunction at 10:45 p.m. at Minor Hall
Sunday, October 4
Fire alarm pull station malfunction at 12:36 a.m. at Minor Hall
Smoke detector activation at 3:44 a.m. due to burned food at Martin Hall
Wreck with entrapment at 9:32 a.m. on 200 CR 436
Fire alarm pull station activation at 2:40 p.m. at Chili’s
