Lakendrick Doss – Auto Burglary
On Sunday, October 11, just before 1 a.m., Oxford police officers arrested Lakendrick Doss, 20 of Horn Lake, for Auto Burglary. Officers were on foot patrol in the south parking lot off the Square behind the Lyric when they saw a male subject holding a purse. The male, later identified as Lakendrick Doss, began grabbing door handles in attempts to open them. The officers walked toward him without alerting him. Before Doss could see them, one of the officers detained him. When they identified him, he had a small amount of misdemeanor narcotics on him. They transported him to the Lafayette County Detention Center and also placed the purse in evidence. Investigators located the owner of the purse. That night, she parked her car just before midnight near Abner’s off the Square. The purse was identified as hers and Doss was spotted on camera leaving the lot with her purse. Doss has been charged with burglary and was given a bond of $5,000.
Oxford police responded to the following calls: five disturbances, five suspicious activities, four alarms, four 911 hang up calls, three fire department assists, two careless drivers, an animal complaint, a petit larceny, a civil matter, a lost property, a trespassing, a harassment, a credit card fraud, a motorist assist and a welfare concern.
Oxford police investigated eight wrecks, issued 39 traffic citations and made 11 arrests on the following charges:

DUI
Forgery
Warrant Served
Expired tag and DUI
Careless driving and DUI
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Resisting arrest, fake ID, possession of drug paraphernalia, suspended driver’s license and no car insurance
University police responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops, possession of alcohol by minor at Sigma Pi house, an intoxicated person in Fraternity Alley, a larceny of bicycles at Union, and a hit and run at University Circle.
