Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, November 13 – 15

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 12 disturbances, 11 suspicious activities, 10 alarms, seven welfare concerns, four petit larcenies, three careless drivers, three motorist assists, two false pretenses, two malicious mischief, two counterfeit currencies, two animal complaints, two civil matters, a 911 hang up call, an ambulance assist, a lost property, harassing phone calls, a scam, and a fire department assist.

Oxford police investigated 20 wrecks, issued 23 traffic citations and made __ arrests on the following charges:
(5) Public intoxications
Shoplifting
Simple assault
Noise violation
Domestic violence
Shoplifting and fake ID
Careless driving and DUI
Minor in possession and fake ID
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Wrong way on a one-way street with DUI
Ran a stop sign with a possession of drug paraphernalia
Public intoxication, resisting arrest and a warrant served

University police responded to the following incidents:
Friday, November 13

Suspicious vehicle at George Hall
Harassment off-campus
Saturday, November 14
Vehicle stop on University Avenue
Vandalism at Brown Hall
Suspicious vehicle at Jackson Avenue Center
Possession of alcohol by minor at Stewart Hall
Petit larceny at the Ole Miss Union
A reported trespassing at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
Vandalism to vehicle in Kincannon parking lot
Sunday, November 15
(4) Vehicle stops
Larceny at Ole Miss Union
Speeding at the Intramural Fields
Accidental hit and run at Phi Kappa Tau house
Service call for an ambulance at Kappa Alpha Theta house

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents:
Friday, November 13
Gas leak at 9:03 a.m. at the Ole Miss Union, and the University Fire Services had the problem under control before arrival
Smoke detector activation at 10:08 a.m. by workers sanding at Lester Hall
Canceled call at 2:13 p.m. at 3006 Bradley Cove
Smoke detector malfunction at 2:20 p.m. at the University Parking Garage
Saturday, November 14
Gas meter damage at 4:42 a.m. by a person backing over it at 212 Elmore Drive, and the fire department turned the gas off
Smoke detector activated at 1:08 p.m. by cleaning at Alpha Tau Omega house
Report of a smoke at 1:15 p.m. at 426 Anchorage Road, but the call was unfounded
Sunday, November 15
Smoke detector activated at 9:31 a.m. by cooking at Canterbury Crest 123
Smoke detector malfunction at 2:30 p.m. at 103 Calton Hill
