Oxford police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Tuesday, January 5, according to a media alert issued this morning.
On Tuesday, January 5, Oxford police officers responded to a dispatch at 5:05 p.m. for an ambulance assist at 110 Old Taylor Road (CR 303). Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals at the residence with one male shot and unresponsive.
The Oxford police later identified the two individuals as Austin McLarty, 20 of Oxford, and Hunter Escue, 18 of Oxford. Since the case is under investigation, the Oxford police department has not filed any charges as they are awaiting results from interviews, autopsy as well as Mississippi Crime Lab’s analyses of items from the scene.
Major Jeff McCutchen said in the alert, ” As more information becomes available, we will send out updates.”
