Eric Armstrong – Aggravated Domestic Violence
On Thursday, January 14, Oxford police investigators arrested Eric Armstrong (26 of Bruce) for Domestic Violence – Aggravated Assault. Victim called the police and upon arriving on scene, the officers saw that she had been assaulted and strangled by Armstrong. They charged him and his bond was set at $5,000.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: five welfare concerns, four suspicious activities, three noise violations, three disturbances, three auto burglaries (two on Augusta Drive and one at Highland Square), two malicious mischief, a false pretense, a petit larceny, a careless driving, an alarm, an improper parking, a fire department assist, a 911 hang up call, an embezzlement, and a burglary at S. 18th Street.
Oxford police investigated four wrecks, issued 24 traffic citations and made two arrests on the following charges:
Simple assault, minor in possession of alcohol, resisting arrest and public intoxication
Failure to yield, suspended driver’s license and a warrant served
University police responded to the following incidents: 10 vehicle stops.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Smoke detector activated at 7:46 a.m. by fumes from cleaning products at Brevard Hall
Vehicle extrication at 9:32 a.m. at 1042 Highway 7 North
Kitchen fire at 2:27 p.m. due to hot oil at Lafayette Place (Apartment No. 5303)
Smoke detector activation at 8:45 p.m. caused by a vaporizer at Phi Kappa Tau house
