Happy Wednesday, Ole Miss fans.
The countdown to National Signing Day continues on, and Ole Miss coaches were out on the road again Tuesday looking to bring in the top recruiting class in program history. Ole Miss men’s basketball also was in action Tuesday, and the Rebels lost in heartbreaking fashion.
Here are three things to know:
- Ole Miss loses some key pieces in its secondary from 2015, so adding early contributors there is key for this recruiting class. On Tuesday, coach Hugh Freeze as well as wide receivers coach Grant Heard and cornerbacks coach Jason Jones was in New Orleans to visit 4-star Florida State cornerback commit Kyle Meyers.
- The Rebels are also looking to add another wide receiver or two to the 2016 class, and Ole Miss made the cut for one of the nation’s best on Tuesday, as four-star Quartney Davis narrowed his list to five, which includes Ole Miss and Texas A&M from the SEC.
- In an early look-ahead to 2016, SEC Country ranked the toughest schedules in the SEC West, and Ole Miss’ path to a division title won’t be easy, as the Rebels came in at No. 2 on the list.

- Four-star Ole Miss defensive end commit Charles Wiley and five-star Ole Miss quarterback commit Shea Patterson’s father joined “Rebel Yell Hotline” to talk all things recruiting.
- Ole Miss basketball lead South Carolina by 11 with just more than five minutes to go when senior guard Stefan Moody went down with a hamstring injury. The Gamecocks outscored the Rebels 13-2 for the rest of regulation to send the game to overtime. South Carolina won 77-74.
