Oxford Crime Report: Monday, January 25
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: two alarms, two disturbances, two suspicious activities, an embezzlement, a welfare concern, an improper parking and a simple assault.
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 45 traffic citations and made 11 arrests on the following charges:
(2) Shoplifting
No headlights and fake ID
Ran stop sign, speeding and DUI
Expired tag and suspended driver’s license
No tag and possession of drug paraphernalia
One headlight and suspended driver’s license
Careless driving, no driver’s license and DUI
No seatbelt, suspended driver’s license and no insurance
No seatbelt, possession of drug paraphernalia and no insurance
No headlights, possession of drug paraphernalia, warrant served and suspended driver’s license
University police responded to the following incidents: four vehicle stops, possession of drug paraphernalia at Stockard Hall, a grand larceny at J.D. Williams Library, and a moving violation per improper equipment, failure to signal, possession of alcohol and drug paraphernalia on Rebel Drive.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call: a smoke detector activation at 3:03 a.m. caused by pest control at Blind Pig.
