Oxford Crime Report: Friday – Sunday, January 29 – 31
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 15 disturbances, 11 suspicious activities, 10 alarms, six improper parking, five careless drivers, three civil matters, three noise violations, three 911 hang up calls, three welfare concerns, two malicious mischief, two credit card frauds, two animal complaints, two lost properties, two petit larcenies, a grand larceny, a code violation, a motorist assist, a public intoxication, a simple assault, an embezzlement and a recovered property.
Oxford police investigated 20 wrecks, issued 147 traffic citations and made 26 arrests on the following charges:

Leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia, suspended driver’s license and DUI
Ran red light, possession of drug paraphernalia and suspended driver’s license

Emergency medical services request due to an intoxicated person at Crosby Hall

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
Friday, January 29
Carbon-Dioxide Detector activated at 9:12 a.m. by steam at South Residential College
Reported smell of gas at 7:14 p.m. at the meter at 211 Colonial Road but the fire department detected no scent
Ambulance stand-by at 7:37 p.m. at 4 Hickory Loop Cove
Water flow alarm at 8:50 p.m. at The Hub
Saturday, January 30
Smoke detector activation at 12:08 p.m. caused by a hair dryer at Hefley Hall
Cancelled call at 2:45 p.m. at 112 Orrwood
Sunday, January 31
Assistance call at 5:58 p.m. at Kappa Alpha Theta house
