Funeral, Memorial Services Set for Ty Laporte

Funeral services for Ty Laporte, who starred for the Ole Miss volleyball and track teams, will be held Saturday, February 20 in her home state of South Carolina, while a memorial service is set for Monday, February 22 on the Ole Miss campus.

Funeral services for Laporte, who lost her life in a car accident Thursday night, will be held at 2 p.m. ET at Columbia First Seventh-day Adventist Church at 243 Riverchase Way in Lexington, South Carolina.
Visitation is set for Friday from 5-7 p.m. ET at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home in Columbia. Flowers may be sent to Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home, 2930 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC 29203.
Laporte’s teammates on the Rebel volleyball team as well as Ole Miss staff members will be attending the funeral services.
The memorial service will take place next Monday at 6 p.m. CT in The Pavilion at Ole Miss. The ceremony is open to the public.
Ty, 23, was the daughter of Jean and Marie Laporte and was born December 18, 1992. She attended Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, and she was in her senior season at Ole Miss, majoring in integrated marketing communications.
