An always-interesting mix of filmmakers and organizers, along with visiting and Oxonian celebrities, academics and film fans contributed to a festive atmosphere at the Oxford Film Festival Awards ceremony last night.

The “pre-game” party, abundant with food, drink, conversation and flashing cameras, eventually gave way to the presentation of a bouquet of flowers by Blake Tartt on behalf of the Board of the Film Festival to Executive Director Melanie Addington for what by all accounts has been the biggest and best Oxford Film Festival yet.

The stage was then overtaken at about 10:45 p.m. by none other than “Divine” to kick off the Awards show. She was joined on stage by Ron Shapiro to begin the highly anticipated presentation.

Winning films were as follows: Blazing Sun, The House is Innocent, The Gift, Finding Cleveland, The Seafarer and the Moonlight, cybergenesis and the Fallen Star. Details about each film can be found in the well-put-together Oxford Film Festival Guide found at this link: http://issuu.com/oxfordfilmfest/docs/off16_final/1?e=0/32468361
