Theatre Oxford will hold auditions later this month for its upcoming production of Almost, Maine, a romantic comedy by John Cariani.
Auditions are scheduled for 4 p.m. Aug. 23 and 6 p.m. Aug. 24 at The Powerhouse. The production is seeking six to 14 actors aged 18 and older, with roles open to performers of all ages, genders and races.
Set in the remote town of Almost, Maine, the play takes place on a clear, moonless winter night as the northern lights shine overhead. The town’s residents experience a series of unexpected encounters involving love, heartbreak and relationships, with the stories unfolding in humorous and sometimes surprising ways.
The production is intended for audiences aged 18 and older.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2; 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3; and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at The Powerhouse.
Rehearsals are scheduled to begin Aug. 30 and continue through Oct. 1.
Those auditioning should prepare a one-minute monologue of their choice. Auditioners also may select a monologue from a list provided by Theatre Oxford.
